phroot from the DSource forums (sorry, I know the first name is Jeremy but nothing more than that) has started an ambitious game project called FreeUniverse. It’s an open ended, 2D space simulator. I haven’t checked it out yet myself, but I’ll definitely be getting around to it in the near future.
