The 2007 D Programming Language Conference
August 23rd, 2007 | by Aldacron |I’m sitting at my desk in Hannam dong, Seoul, Republic of Korea and it’s 10:10 pm, August 23. In just over three hours, the first D Conference will officially open its doors in Seattle, with the first session beginning thirty minutes later. There will be much schmoozing and networking, many ideas tossed around, and several meetings of the minds. The best part of it all is that several people who have known each other for months or years online through their work with D will finally get to meet face-to-face.
I had hoped to be there myself since I was planning a trip home to Atlanta in August. I’ve had to push that trip back to November, though. I could justify the expense for a three day hop across the Pacific to Seattle for the conference if I leave my wife here in Seoul in November. She’s not too keen on that idea, unfortunately.
So I want to wish those who are attending a successful conference and a great time. Good luck to all. I look forward to see what comes of it. Hopefully, I’ll be able to attend the next one.
