Tango 0.99.7 Dominik

Friday, July 25th, 2008

A new version of Tango is live. From the NG announcement:

A new version of Tango is now available for download. It is named after
Dominik Susmel for his creation of the Tango logo. The release have new
features, but is also a clean-up release containing some breaking changes.

* Base64 encoding/decoding module by Jeff Davey
* New container package
* Updated for DMD 1.033
* Reduced number of file related modules

For a more complete lost of changes, see the 0.99.7 Changelog. I tend not to work from the Tango trunk, so I’ve not given the new container package a run through yet. Looking forward to playing with it.

OpenMW 0.3

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Nicolay has announced OpenMW 0.3. The project now includes support for Windows. OpenMW is an open source implementation of Morrowind and requires that you own a legal copy of that game in order to run it. I’m digging Morrowind out of my game drawer just to try this out!

DMD 1.033 and 2.017

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Following on the releases of DMD 1.032 and 2.016, which broke Tango, Walter has now released 1.033 and 2.017 with fixes. Tango users should now be able to safely upgrade to 1.033. Tango does not yet support D 2.0, but other 2.0-compatible projects might benefit from the fixes.

The usual warning: 1.x is the stable branch and should be the choice for production code. Only go for 2.x if you like to play with unstable, experimental compiler features.
