DMD 1.047 and 2.032

Sorry for being so quiet here. I’ve been largely out of the D loop for a bit, though I do check the newsgroups once every week or so for major announcements. The big news this week is the release of the shiny new DMD 1.047 and 2.032.

Both versions include updates to the Compile Time Function Execution feature, which seems to have several people excited. Additionally, the list of squashed bugs in 2.032 is quite impressive. If you haven’t given D 2 a try yet, I think now is the time to begin considering it.

Don’t forget, D2 is still cutting edge and subject to change, so might not be practical for production code. But I’ve a feeling that soon I won’t need to say that anymore.
