Upgrade Complete
Thursday, November 16th, 2006The upgrade is finished and it appears that I didn’t goof anything. If that holds true, that will be 2/3 successful blog updates in one round. That’s a new record for me. Next time maybe I’ll hit 3/3.

A new version of Wordpress was released a couple of weeks ago. I upgraded one blog the other day and this one will get its turn in the next day or two. Don’t be alarmed if you get database errors, 404s, or some other weirdness in the next 48 hours. I usually manage to goof something up on the first try.
The past three days have been hectic for me. I spent the better part of two of them at the Korea Games Conference, then doing other things in the evening. In the mean time there have been a few juicy news items in D-Land. I’ll give each one of them a post here shortly. Right now, I’m trying to work out some issues with another of my blogs. It either got hacked or something went bonkers.
For those of you who enjoy evangelizing D, there is a new thread about our favorite language over at GameDev.net. A poster has elicited feedback with the tantalizing topic, “What do you think of the D language”. He is a D-ite himelf and seems to enjoy it quite a bit. Head on over and chime in if you’ve got the time.

I have just installed a rather complex comment filter plugin. The amount of comment spam I’ve been getting on all of my blogs has hit insane levels. I can’t keep up with it anymore just through moderation. Because this filter is supposed to be really effective, I’ve turned off moderation entirely. Comments will now be published as soon as you post them. If spam starts slipping through the filter, though, I’ll turn moderation back on.
